Business Insurance

An insurance strategy built around your business.

We examine your operations, coverage, contracts, and claims to understand where your program stands. Then we recommend how to structure your insurance, address gaps, and manage the cost of risk.

How we work with you

Understand the risk. Structure the program. Stay involved.

  1. 01

    Understand the risk

Your operations, contracts, claims, and growth plans shape the review. We bring industry understanding to your coverage and compare contractual insurance requirements with policy terms.

Identify the differences that need attention.

  2. 02

    Structure the program

We explain the coverage, limits, and retained risk we recommend, along with the tradeoffs. Funding options can include guaranteed cost, large deductibles, self-insurance, and captives where appropriate.

A recommendation with a clear rationale.

  3. 03

    Stay involved

Claims advocacy and risk control help inform loss response and prevention, with involvement tailored to your needs.

A clear plan throughout the year.

Your experience with Virtus

Know the plan. Know your team. Know what's next.

From the first review through each renewal, the Virtus Arc gives your team a clear path through the insurance decisions ahead, with agreed priorities, defined responsibilities, and regular opportunities to review progress.

A review you can act on

We start with your operations, plans, coverage, and claims. Your Insurance Diligence Report explains what we found, why it matters to your business, and what we recommend. Together, we identify the priorities that should shape your program.

An organized start

Your Insight Meeting brings your service team together around your business and goals. We confirm who handles what, establish the service plan, and coordinate claims and risk control support around your needs. A follow-up closes out outstanding onboarding items.

A working relationship throughout the year

Scheduled reviews create time to discuss business changes, claims trends, and progress on agreed actions. Your team helps address questions as they arise and revisits the plan as your needs change.

Preparation for the next renewal

We review your exposures and agree on a market strategy before approaching carriers. We compare the options, explain our recommendation, and help you weigh coverage, retained risk, and cost. After placement, we confirm the program and carry open items into the year ahead.

Our work in practice

A hotel project.
A construction exclusion.

Hospitality & Construction

An anonymized client example from our insurance diligence work.

The finding

A hotel owner/operator was developing a new hotel and believed its development company had General Liability coverage for its role as general contractor. During diligence, Virtus identified a Real Estate Development Activities Exclusion that excluded the ground-up construction operations.

The review

Our AI-assisted Review Policies tool supported the policy deep dive and helped identify the gap. The Virtus team reviewed the findings against the client’s operations and explained the mismatch between the work being performed and the policy’s coverage.

The solution

Virtus separated the hospitality and construction exposures, placing the hotel operations with hospitality-focused carriers and the general contractor operations with a specialized construction liability program designed for ground-up development. The development company obtained dedicated liability coverage for its construction operations.
